In the summer of 2000, Dave Newton and Ryan Kirkpatrick began performing as a two-piece acoustic act of guitar, vocals, and drums/ percussion. It was during these early stages that the entire 5-track EP (except "Surburbia") was written. After about a year, Shoeless Joe became a trio with the addition of Don Hamilton on bass. The Shoeless Joe sound evolved and became more aggressive. More songs were written and in mid-2002, the 5-track EP entitled "Red" was released. "Suburbia" has now recieved airplay in 4 cities and is doing very well here on Garageband.com. Today, Shoeless Joe performs heavily in the Indiana and Kentucky area to promote the EP and spread the music
