How it all started . Once upon a time in Spain there was an Englishman teaching English to spoilt upperclass Spanish children . He was also a singer\songwriter and every month he received a Norwegian music magazine in the mail . In one of these magazines he saw an ad for a band searching for a vocalist . The job description fit him to a tee and so , when he returned to Norway some months later , he contacted the band . Several months later they all met in Ølen on the westcoast where ten songs were quickly recorded during three days of intense creative activity .A band name was now required and after much deliberation it was agreed that the band be named Redbait - representing the raw yet alluring nature of the band .The style of the band now evolved and it became clear that this was loud british pop\rock made by people who liked to have equal amounts of Police and Oasis sprinkled on their cornflakes in the morning .Soon a demo LP of stunning quality was complete including live string arrangements on several tracks and spiced with analogue synth ,loops and acoustic percussion .The demo is currently circulating the labels searching for a home , so far it is homeless .The band plans to play extensively throughout Norway this summer\autumn and harvest a loyal audience .This Norway-based indie band has britrock blood running through its veins. Strikingly lyrical pop combined with irresistably catchy rock to create a mood where anything seems possible. The band lineup is comprised of three norwegian musicians with a lifelong record of live and studio experience and british singer\songwriter Daniel Glaister. Together this foursome is a force to be reckoned with.Guitarist Jon Ørnes is the driving musical mastermind supported by the solid beat of bass player Odd the Modd and drummer Roy Hansen. Add to this the wonderful voice and songwriting skills of Daniel Glaister and you have a unique sonic mixture that appeals to a broad audience without being run of the mill.Their new demo CD displays a musical attitude of combined recklessness and tenderness. At one moment carismatic and seductive in the next. The lyrics are a bonus in themselves, ranging from the hauntingly poetic to the bitingly sarcastic. The inlay browsers will not be bored. Without question this is a band that really deserves to be heard.
