tHe reD cloud: This band is a mixture of two different rock & roll worlds that have found a solid ground in the middle. Their influences are broad when it comes to different styles of music, and it's hard to pinpoint just whether the band is one of the more commercial/radio-friendly/fridge buzz acts, or one of the kind of trendy-indie/conceptually progressive rock acts. Whatever the case, it's most definitely rock.
sounds of people: the drums (played by Dustin Cates) are driving and energetic with a good sense of solidness throughout the songs, while the bass lines (played by Rhiannon Coulombe) are generally simple, yet clever, filling, tonally dynamic, and her vocals are very soothing as well. As for the percussive aspects of the red cloud, Sarah Kennedy adds an ethnic airy quality to the already energetic drums, and makes the more quite parts seem full. Lastly, the guitar and vocals (provided by The David Davis) add a sonically uplifting, yet somewhat depressing vibe to the band. The lyrics are mainly about people and/or the experience of people. David's lyrics are very open-ended and ambiguous, yet deeply concentrated on one theme that doesn't deviate.
