  I went to see them supporting Altered Images in Sheffield back in the early eighties. They are coming to Newcastle and YES I have a ticket. Even my daughter is going as she has become a fan!!

  Am I the greatest fan?? Saw them in 1980 supporting Squeeze at Tiffany's in Leeds. Have EVERY ALBUM they ever made. Also you guys need to join the AFOS appreciation Society that I started. It IS me talking.......

  I was in the USAF Holloman AFB New Mexico and I finally saw the band at club 101 El Paso Texas in 1990.It was intimate a smaller crowd since I missed them in San Juan PR summer of 84 or 85 becuase I would travel to the states with my sister to spend summers so it was a big deal for me becuase the music had already evolved from new wave or industrial pop. I mean people just kept labeling the genre in to(progresive,alternative and i think its rubbish or as we say in the states a crock of shit) ... More...   I just like to say I love this band like no other... rather than go on about it I thought I'd just transfer my review from Amazon about thier first albumn, which is in fact not their best... In my Humble opinion there best albumn is " A Story Of A Young Heart" which I think is as good as Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" and I have many friends that agree. Here it is........ A sound the defined a genre and a band that defined all that was great about the 1980's. Never reaching their true p... More... Never reaching their true potential, In my opinion they were the most underated band not just of the 80's but of All Time. This was their debut albumn and it is almost perfect. You'll never hear another band that defined the New Wave movement so completely and perfectly as A Flock Of Seagulls. Throught their music and lyrics they captured the excitment and wonder of a young generation emerging from the doldrums of the 70's into a brave new world...no group captured it quit like this band. Not only does this albumn contain "I Ran" which is THE anthem song of the 1980's but also many other fantastic songs like "DNA", "Telecommunication", "Modern Love is Automatic" and my personal favorite " Space Age Love Song". It's a MUST HAVE for anyone who likes the New Wave genre a testment to a time of exposive creativity, were bands were free to explore new idea's, new sound, and of course new looks... perhaps this albumn could even be considred a historical document, as I believe it is also an important albumn in the The Grand Scheme Of music evolution throughout the ages.
