Originally from Sand Point, Nova Scotia, Andrea now lives in Toronto, where she has garnered a reputation as one of Canada's best up-and-coming singer-songwriters. Earning early recognition with a demo of 'Heart Wide Open (Eyes Wide Shut)' which hit the Garageband ALL-Time charts a few year's back, Andrea's since won a prize in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest, was a double finalist in this year's USA Songwriting Contest and has showcased at the ECMAs, CMW, NXNE and the CCMAs. The ballot, which is determined by The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Committee, is the first step towards a nomination on the award show. "Sometimes," the current single from Andrea's debut album, Lemonade, hit #1 on the East Coast Countdown only three weeks since the song was released! "Sometimes," is a mid-tempo song with a message about following your dreams, reminding listeners that "Sometimes you gotta think with your heart." The song, which is featured on a recently released Dawson's Creek DVD, has sparked massive interest. Andrea's debut full-length album, Lemonade, is available now through Maplenationwide/Universal Music Canada. The album was co-produced by BMG producer writer and Northern Pikes singer, Bryan Potvin and Andrea. Creighton Doane and Brett Rosenberg also stepped in to produce additional tracks and producer Brian Allen (Heart's "What About Love" writer) has re-mixed "Sometimes" for radio play. Andrea's music has also been heard on the CBS hit Show Joan of Arcadia, ABC Family's Beautiful People and her CD featured on Canada's late night TV hit Out there With Melissa DiMarco. Having opened for or performed with some of Canada's top artists over the last few years, including Martha Wainwright, Gordie Sampson, Andy Stochansky and Tara MacLean, England has earned her reputation as a passionate performer.
