Andrés J. Orozco was born in Medellín, Colombia in 1979. At a very young age he developed a strong bond with music and sound influenced by his family's background in music. On his mother's side of the family, his granduncle was part of a famous Colombian music trio called "Trio Colombia", and on his father's side, he had older cousins in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellín. His father was also a self-taught musician, though he never pursued a career in music. At the age of 9 Andrés began taking pottery classes followed guitar lessons at a poly technical institute in Medellín. He did not enjoy the guitar lessons and often "skipped" them as he would prefer to stay in the art room working with clay. He stopped taking the guitar lessons after a few months and instead began taking piano lessons, which once again stopped taking after a few months. It wasn't until he was 11 years old that he realized that he actually liked to play the guitar and the piano, he simply didn't like to take lessons. On that note, he began teaching himself and would often play by ear. This marked a turning point in his life which would latter help him develop his musical talents and love for the art of music.
