Feb 27, 02:03 PMAndrew Bird Newsletter - February 27 Edition
Hey Friends, greetings and salutations!
We have a new video (!), some new show announcements, a new radio session to listen to, and probably something else that I just can't think of right now...
Firstly: the FITZ AND THE DIZZYSPELLS video, directed by Digitelio and featuring the Mucca Pazza marching band, is now posted exclusively for a first look today at MySpace. Share the joy and send it to your friends!
We have added some solo shows to the European tour, and there are a few more to come:
May 16
Geneva, Switzerland
Usine - ticketsMay 17
Zurich, Switzerland
Rote Fabrik - ticketsAndrew is also confirmed to play the Primavera Festival in Barcelona, Spain May 28-30.
And then in June - behold!
June 8
Columbia, MD
Merriweather Post Pavilion supporting: the Decemberists
pre-sale ticketsAlso in June - save these dates, as we will soon be announcing huge awesome headline shows for Andrew in the following cities: Atlanta on 6/15, Philadelphia on 6/17, New York on 6/18, and Boston on 6/19... so put a big heart on your calendar for those days and stay tuned.
How 'bout a contest!? Guess the venue in each of the above cities that Andrew will be playing, and e-mail andrewbirdcontest@gmail.com with the CITY and VENUE in the subject line. Out of all the correct guesses for each show I will randomly pick one winner to receive a free pair of tickets to that show.Andrew and band stopped by KMTT's Music Lounge earlier this week to play a session for the good citizens of Seattle - listen to acoustic versions of "Fitz and the Dizzyspells", "Imitosis", "Effigy", and an interview here.
Last but not least, we're looking for some lovely street teamers in Germany and France to help promote Andrew's upcoming shows there - sign up here and we will be in touch!
Thanks as always for reading! So great to get all the amazing response to the shows lately, and a big thanks for listening to the music and spreading the word - it really makes a difference. Now go out there and have a fabulous weekend, I intend to!
Best,
