From his days in teen garage-rock sensations The Sherlocks to his Juno nominated band Bodega, Andrew Rodriguez has come along way since moving to Montreal as a child from Sweden. Now, Andrew Rodriguez has completed "Here Comes The Light" his debut solo album out on the Baudelaire Label. After recording the Bodega album "Without A Plan" in upstate New York with renowned producer Dave Fridmann, Andrew toured under the Bodega moniker, but he also started doing some solo outings under his given name, opening for Rufus Wainwright, Neil Halstead, Sarah Harmer, Sarah Slean and Hayden. While recording his solo album, Andrew took time out to help out on various recordings, most notably contributing guitar, keyboard and backing vocals to fellow Montrealer Sam Roberts song Brother Down. Also during this time, Andrew took to the road and toured extensively as guitarist/keyboardist with Melissa Auf Der Maur. Andrew recorded "Here Comes The Light" himself, mainly at home. It features members of Stars, Jason Kent, Angela Desveaux and others. Although one can hear echoes of John Lennon, Neil Young and The Band, and also a connection with contemporary artists such as Wilco, Grandaddy and The Raconteurs, Andrew has developed a style and sound entirely his own.
