  hi everyone - just wanted to send a quick note as i'm out on the road with joseph arthur.  we're in san francisco at the great american music hall - a georgeous venue!  come out if you are in town! 

  
  

  there will also be an airing of a performance i taped for a TV show in the US called FearlessMusic this weekend.  www.fearlessmusic.tv.  i'll be performing "the ones they blame"  - you can go to the website and vote for my performance - if i "win" - they will play another song the following week!  you can do this anywhere in the world!

  I have good news to share!  Baeble Music produced a wonderful video of my entire concert at New York's Bowery Ballroom in May - and it is now available to view. It turned out really well. It is about 30 minutes long, but you can also watch track by track.

  (New York, NY—June 3, 2008) Already a star in her native Sweden, singer/songwriter Anna Ternheim is now setting her sights on North America. Ternheim recently moved to New York City and just completed a successful tour with indie darlings Lykke Li and El Perro Del Mar in support of her first official U.S. full-length release, Halfway to Fivepoints. Yahoo Music was quoted as saying the CD “overflows with gorgeous production” noting “resistance is futile” while the Chicago Reader declared; “Ternheim shapes her songs with a refreshing faith in the power of clarity.” The buzz on Anna Ternheim is sure to continue as she kicks off another tour this July alongside Joseph Arthur who was discovered by Peter Gabriel nearly a decade ago (see tour dates below).

  
  

  Halfway to Fivepoints takes you on a journey through her already successful international career. The collection of songs is culled from her previously released albums abroad, and conjures quickly-written love stories, tales of loneliness, messy lives, stalkers and therapeutic kiss-offs to formers lovers. Stand-out tracks include a duet with Fyfe Dangerfield of the UK band Guillemots on “Lovers Dream,” which she calls a “creepy love song,” the catchy “Today Is A Good Day,” the melancholy “To Be Gone,” crowd favorite “Girl Laying Down” and a beautifully stripped-down cover of Fleetwood Mac’s eighties hit “Little Lies.”
  Ternheim has been nominated for 5 Swedish Grammys and won 3 including Best Newcomer of the Year, Best Female Artist and Best Lyricist. With recent features on WNYC’s Soundcheck, PRI’s The World, and NPR’s The World Café already under her belt, she is also garnering consistent raves for her moving live performances. The New York Sun marveled; “The stripped-down shows expose the emotion coursing through Ternheim's songs in a more raw and vulnerable way” while CMJ raved; “sultry and sweet, (her) voice cascades over haunting instrumentals and effortlessly scales the vocal spectrum.”

  NORTH AMERICAN MAY TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED WITH EL PERRO DE MAR AND LYKKE LI

  ON THE HEELS OF HER SELF-TITLE EP ACCLAIMED SONGWRITER TO RELEASE HER FIRST FULL-LENGTH IN NORTH AMERICA, "HALFWAY TO FIVEPOINTS" IN STORES ON DECCA APRIL 22, 2008

  (New York, NY- APRIL 2008) Already a star in her native Sweden, singer/songwriter Anna Ternheim will release her first official U.S. full-length album and Decca debut, Halfway to Fivepoints on April 22 . Ternheim's hauntingly poetic style- evident in both her vocals and eloquent songwriting- can be heard on every achingly beautiful song. One of the largest newspapers in Sweden was quoted as saying that Anna has "a voice that cuts like a knife...so beautiful it makes you want to cry." Halfway to Fivepoints will be in stores on April 22nd with an 11 major city tour across North America to support the release.

  On the heels of her self-titled EP released on Decca in 2007, Halfway to Fivepoints takes you on a journey through her already successful international career. Together, this collection of songs taken from her previously released albums abroad, features quickly-written love stories, tales of loneliness, messy lives, stalkers and therapeutic kiss-offs to formers lovers. Ternheim sought to bring the listener into another realm of fantasy and secrets. Throughout the CD she showcases her ability to take the listener to a far away place with her breathy vocals of which Nylon called "warm and cozy."   Anna Ternheim began playing the guitar, writing songs and performing when she was only ten years old. During a year abroad in Atlanta, Georgia, Anna put together her first band Sova and played at smaller festivals and local clubs. After almost two years, Anna returned to Sweden to release her debut album, Somebody Outside on Universal/Stockholm in 2004. Following the release of Somebody Outside she won a Swedish Grammy Award for Best Newcomer, and was nominated for Best Female Artist, Best Lyricist and Best Songwriter in 2005. Her second full-length album, Separation Road, garnered two Swedish Grammy wins in the Best Female Artist and Best Lyricist categories. Between the release of Halfway to Fivepoints and touring, Ternheim is sure to convert legions of new fans this side of the pond.
