Anna Yvette is an unstoppable power house. With an eclectic range of musical influences, and a classically trained pianist and violinist. She was raised in a house where Rock N Roll ruled supreme, grew up listening to hardcore and punk, and traveled around with jam bands Moe, and Particle, a fascinating hybrid of songwriting was born. Her gift for "words" and her ability to just tell it like it is, Anna taught herself the guitar, and took her songs on the road.
In 2005 she recorded her first EP Reprisal, which she wrote, produced and played herself. In 2007 she was joined by drummer Vincent Listrani, and bassist Louis Langone forming the OHms, or dubbed by her fans screams at shows as A.Y.O.! They spent 2007 regularly rocking the NYC circuit, and traveling a most of the North East coast. 2008 brought even bigger touring opportunities that took them across the Midwest to play in Minneapolis, Chicago IL, and Cleveland OH, and ended their Midwest tour by playing in front of thousands of people in Walker Minnesota at the Moondance Jam, where she joined Crosby Stills and Nash, Sebastian Bach, Poison, Sweet, Great White, Boz Scaggs, along with many other greats.
A.Y.O. has been played on the infamous "out of the box" show on Q104.3, took over College Radio with her 2008 Release "Moonlighter" where she's played on over 300 stations all over the country and Canada. Received acclaim from New Yorks Number One Music Station, and nationally syndicated morning show the Z morning Zoo on Z100 for the song "Give It Up Girl." A.Y.O. also actively participates in many charities, and often combines her music with raising awareness for them. She has played for over 3,000 people at the Human Rights Rally for China at Union Square in NYC, and is also involved with Global Outreach, GO Brazil, One, and Multiple Sclerosis just to name a few.
A gifted songstress , with a voice that will blow you away, bringing messages of empowerment to all souls, and perhaps a few songs that truly make you laugh out loud. She has broken the typical stereotype of just another chick with a guitar, and has completely transformed it into a new art form. She is redefining the standard for the music industry in what a true musician and artist should stand for, and can't wait for you to hear what she's got in store for 2009!
A.Y.O.'s summer schedule is already filling up! They will be performing at Wheels of Steel Weekend in Cleveland Ohio, and will be returning to Moondance Jam this summer in Walker Minnesota to open up for Sheryl Crow on July 16th!
