Anne McCue started out as lead guitarist in Melbourne band Girl Monstar. The band topped the Independent Charts, at one stage knocking The Cure out of the Number One position. On the side she studied jazz guitar then played in South East Asia for a year. Anne has been touring in North America and Australia for the last couple of years. Her music is rich and widely influenced. The album ranges from intimate songs with just Anne and her guitar to lush production with orchestra and band. Musicians on the album include Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell), Greg Leisz (k.d. lang), Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra), Helen Mountford (Not Drowning Waving). McCue plays all the guitars on the record, co-produced all the tracks except one and wrote or co-wrote all of the songs.
saw her open for Heart a few years ago. Put on a good set, especially when she covered Hendrix's "Machine Gun". Just blown away by her guitar playing

Anne may have a pretty voice and a pretty face, but she also plays a mean guitar. This has been remarked upon by no less an authority than Lucinda Williams (with whom Anne has toured).
