    I will be forever grateful to hearing ARCHIE SHEPP IN SAN FRANCISCO back in 1977, and being thoroughly blown away by it! Archie is one of the masters of the tenor, and one helluva poet and keen observer of this troubled world.

    Shepp is sometimes uneven in concert, but I heard him once with Santi di Briano and he was unbelievable. FIre Music and Four For Trane--just go get'em.

    Attica Blues, Blasé, Fire Music, On This Night, Mama Too Tight, Live in San Francisco........ Everyone into music should attempt to go see Archie Shepp in concert.
