Canadian singer Jennifer Parkin has become a true icon on the electronic scene with her unique music writing style, her personality and her Lolita meets Glam-punk image. After her departure from Epsilon Minus in 2003, she began her new project Ayria and shook the foundation of the industrial-electro scene with the extravagant “Debris” release which mixes straight old-school industrial with harsh electro while giving a nod to electro-clash and 80’s new wave. Jennifer has released two full length Ayria CD’s on Belgium label Alfa Matrix (FRONT 242, LEATHERSTRIP, etc.), as well as having completed several guest vocal collaborations (Implant, Parallel Project, Isis Signum, Aiboforcen, Glis). Ayria has earned a very solid reputation for putting on engaging and energetic live performances and because of this, has had the chance to play some very exotic gigs in the past year including touring the U.S.A.(37 dates) in 2007 as the opening act for The Cruxshadows, as well as in 2006, touring Europe, Russia, Mexico and even Japan! The second release “Flicker” (December 2005) put Ayria on the map with an original sound and helped Ayria gain a solid following crossing boundaries between underground industrial fans to electro & 80’s fans of all ages. On “Flicker” Jennifer tackled a new frontier by writing and programming all material and as a result, it is her most explosive release to date. The aggression was harsher than ever and the melodic moments went further than Ayria’s gone in the past. Anyone who has been a fan of Jennifer’s work has already come to expect music and live shows that will be stylistically diverse. Sometimes being described as the “Dark Industrial Gwen Stefani” or even “Madonna meets Nitzer Ebb”, the time has now come for Ayria to take revenge on the world! Ayria is now in the studio again working on the third release which will be produced by Seb Komor (Icon of Coil, Zombie Girl) and will see a release date of early 2008.
