    News: Hi everyone,
Welcome to the McSheen. That oftentimes annoyingly optimistic glow of "charm" which some Irishers such as me spin stuff into.
Welcome especially to all the new subscribers who gave me their email addresses at the Jan 20 show at the North Star Bar. That show was fun. Real nice venue, great crowd. I hope you are enjoying your copy of STONE COLD BLUE.

While using the add subscribers function, I took the liberty of adding longtime contacts -- friends, fans from other lists and associates because I'm finding that Numberonemusic.com really is a good, albeit sometimes functionally challenged, fanlist manager service. Hi friends, fans and associates. I hope you find this to be a net-etiquette-compatible surprise?

AND NUMBERONEMUSIC.COM FANS ARE THE BEST FANS IN THE UNIVERE!!!
Woo hoo! Let's see if we can surpass 800 total subscribers this month

So, biggest news for this month is I will be interviewed for the first time ever on radio (and in this case, we're talkin' both internet and fm broadcast radio) February 16 on Tom Schulte's Outsight Radio Hours. Go to http://www.outsight.muto learn how to listen live and the many ways to catch rebroadcasts. And then become a fan of that show, because it is awesome.

For you returning readerlisteners, you will notice no new Headflap or BBH tracks have been added but believe you me that we are fast completing several projects.

Look how fatly pregnant the Friends on HumanInhuman Records section has become. Headflap guitarist Kermit Hell Lyman III has been a workhorse with a viciously cool and all-inclusive new myspace page http://www.myspace.com/kermithelllyman  and please enjoy his slumlord Philadelphia track "Razorback" his Thee Nosebleeds track "California" (coming soon) see, that's where he plays his solo songs with an electrified band, not just solo acoustic and finally, a song from his old band Wally featuring killer spoken word ending by former BBHer-turned- standup cringe comedian Joe DeRosa

No slouch himself, my friend B.Satinover has bestowed upon my label the right to release several older works from his 20some year catalog in addition to several new projects he‘s cooking up (of which "Panopticon" is an example) So far we have released MICRO, his 60+ track collection of electronic pieces averaging about a minute which listeners may sequence into whole songs or not. (No tracks from that album are currently included here.) Next we will release a download-only B.SATINOVER ARCHIVES which focuses on the years 1982 through 1993. From that compilation,
please enjoy his early 80s song Long Regrets, Fading Smiles which easily goes on my list of great songs that pack an emotional whallop. Pumping and tight uptempo punky new wavey pop/rock with devastating lyrics. The very stuff that early alternative was made from . I am convinced that Satinover was right there on that tip with the cutting edge at that time and you would know his name had not a major health issue veered his life off course. My life story is similar, and in a future newsletter I would like to talk more about it and my label's other goals in addition to promoting the music of myself and my friends.

Finally how crazy is Mikingmihrab to be playing 3 shows in cold cold February? Crazy enough to be truly dedicated to rock'n'roll, my friendss, you missed the first show and the next two are feb 14 at the octoraro hotel and bar in Oxford, Pa and then Feb 21 at Doc Watson's in Philly.

So for you Delaware Valleydwellers on the list, we and our network of local friends, are able to come up with shows that we hope you can get to. I am psyched about the percentage of Europeans Asians and Australians signing up, but as for playing to you on your soil, I don't know what to say today. As for you all in further reaches of USA and Canada, there's some hope we may get to some venues "if we all pull together as a team"
    Welcome to the McSheen

Tons of love to you all and please find peace in whatever form of self expression you choose, -- but don't just choose it. Let it choose you, then choose it back, choose the hell out of it and mean it every goddamn day for as fucking long as you and it both shall live.

  • Alan's Resolutions

My 2009 resolutions for BBH are to release 5 Weezy Pieces and Mood Stabilizer Vol. 2 no later than March as download only. Physical releases of these might follow at any time, but it is more likely that a Best of however many Mood StaBILIZER VOLUMES THERE WILL BE, WILL BE THE ONLY PHYSICAL RELEASE TO RESULT FROM THAT SERIeS. aT SOME POINT IN 2009, FIRST FIFTEEN (15 SONGS FROM THE FIRST 15 YEARS OF bbh) WILL BE RELEASED, NOT SURE HOW THE DOWNLOAD ONLY/PHYSICAL RELEASE situation will pan out. In a year and a half or more, a FIRST FIFTEEN VOLUME TWO (15 more songs from the first 15 years of BBH) will probably be released. More volumes in the Mood Stabilizer series and the all new GNOME SANE? album will probably not see the light of day in 2009 because

My 2009 resolutions for Headflap, the live arm of BBH, have me prioritizing the quartet over my onemanband BBH activities. Headflap is trying to draw attention to my backlog of material, so it is not like I need to add TONS of material to an already cloged pipeline. So I have a three year plan in mind. It starts with us releasting -- preferably download and physical simultaneously -- the mostly recorded Headflap's version of FIRST 15 (15 songs from the first 15 years of BBH as performed by Headflap) also no later than March... maybe April? and just gigging as much as possible and networking and all the rest. As BBh's 2nd volume of FIRST FIFTEEN gets released, I hope to release twoHeadflap albums COLD SPONGE and WARM DOVER in fairly quick succession (6 to 12 months apart?) throughout 2010 and 2011. The two albums are a 50/50 split of the old BBH stuff and brand new material, only a small fraction of which might appear on GNOME SANE or even maybe a MOOD STABILIZER album. Finally, I hope to try and have Headflap play the 2010 and 2011 CMJ festivals so submitting stuff to their stations in 2009 seems wise.

So there it is. My 2009 resolutions list. Hope you liked 'em. Me, I plan to live them, best I can. In 2009 I'll do what I can to set this 3 year plan in motion. I have ideas what Headflap could do beyond that but a 4 or 5 year plan seems too ambitious. Okay then. Good morning. Have a great day.
