OUT NOW
BIT.TRIP BEAT ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
GAIJIN GAMES
--------------------------------------------------
Breakaway WiiWare hit Bit.Trip Beat made an instant mark with gamers, owing to its inventive / addictive twist on the music-based rhythm game -- and having a beautifully integrated chipmusic-heavy soundtrack didn't hurt. And now, released last month, the game's infectious backing tracks are available digitally as a 10-song soundtrack album; bookended by the game's two Bit Shifter contributions, "Move To Intercept" and "The Information Chase." Tracks can be downloaded individually (for those who may already have the Bit Shifter songs) or as an album via CDBaby, the iTunes Store, and several other digital retailers.

PLUS for Kickstarter backers:

On the subject of the Kickstarter drive: thanks to the unbelievable generosity and support of the global chipmusic community, we're happy to say we've met our target in our fundraising campaign. And to our astonishment, the amount pledged continues to increase, undeterred. Thanks to everyone who's pledged support, we'll now be able to patch the hole created by a significant grant shortfall. For those still interested in some of the one-time-only pledge rewards the Blip Festival / 8bitpeoples team has cooked up, there's still a little under two weeks left in the campaign, so you still have a window of opportunity to enjoy "thank you" items that include an exclusive line of t-shirts designed by this year's Blip Festival visualists; Little Sound DJ cartridges pre-loaded with example tracks by some of the Game Boy scene's programming virtuosos; and of course, access to the backers-only satellite events, such as the Condom performance on the 18th, and the Starpause DJ set during a pre-show happy hour on the 19th. More info at the links below, and huge thanks to all of you who've supported us so far.

THAT'S ALL
--------------------------------------------------
Thanks to Liz Revision, the subVariant & Front 312 crews for a super-fun beer-and-sushi flavored Halloween dust-up at Ai Lounge; I had a blast and I also had some pretty fucking good sushi. Thanks too to everyone who's helped keep the Blip Festival running via their Kickstarter support. Also thanks to all my friends who helped me move apartments a week ago, that shit sucked but you are all princes and princesses in my book. Like things weren't busy enough. Anyway -- onward to Pulsewave, Rio de Janeiro, and the BLIP FESTIVAL; see you all there.
Josh
