Break Even is a rock n' roll band from Denmark. The band was formed in early 2004 and made their début on the Danish music scene only months after its creation. In the beginning, Break Even consisted only of three members; Martin von Seelen (vocals, guitar), Allan Ørberg (bass) and Kian Mejdal (drums). Today the band consist of four members as lead guitarist Carsten Sørensen joined in the summer of 2006. The bands music strech from soft rock to hard rock n' roll but is probably best described as melodic rock with a vocal nerve. This mixed with energetic instrumental passages introduces the listener to some solid rock music that separates itself from the often fine-tuned popstar sound of present time. In November 2004 Break Even recorded their first EP in cooperation with multi musician and producer Tom Lindby (Natural Born Hippies etc.). At first, the EP got the band a domestic distribution deal with Danish distribution giant Mis Label. However, this deal went on to land Break Even a record deal with indie label Midget Records, also from Denmark. The band recorded their self-titled début album in 2005 with producer Tom Lindby. The album was released domestically on Midget Records on 16 September 2005. However, in early 2006 Break Even parted ways with Midget Records as both parties seeked new pastures. Dispite this fact, the band hopes to be able to release a follow-up to their début through another record company or independently sometime in 2007. The recording process for the follow-up started in the spring of 2006 with Tom Lindby producing at the Popshit Studios.
