  in the reins is probably one of the best folk albums of the last couple decades. it's not just because of iron and wine's beautifully crafted lyrics but it's calexico's influence of old rustic country music that just ties it all together. I listened tot his album over and over again til my head (and my roommates' head) exploded. Sixteen, Maybe Less is heartbreakingly good, "I met my wife at a party when I drank to much/my son is married and tells me we don't talk enough/call it predictable/ye...   my friend's uncle is friends with one of the guys from Calexico, and he told us about them a few years back. didn't do too much listening until the album with Iran & Wine was released. Definitely becamse a fan after that. Its a great use of insturmentational harmony and melody. great to lay around and read to.

  Why are there no posts on this wall.... hang on, yes there is; this one!! I must say while I like their combined efforts, Iron and Wine are great on their own. It's just good old fashioned soothing tunes; almost folk! So give it a whirl; you'll love it, I promise!!
