Born on June 22 1975 Cherod Haywood also known as Cha (pronounced shah) has been around music the majority of his life. He was born in Miami, FL and lived there the majority of his childhood. His Father was a talented musician who was the first to introduce him to the beauty of Jazz and soul of the 70's. In the 80's though is when Cha was introduced to hip hop. It was in dance form while viewing the movie Beat street at a local drive in theater. He came from a poor family in the projects of liberty city. His mom couldn’t afford a radio but when she got one from a friend she gave it to Cha. He would spend countless hours recording songs that he heard from the movie soundtrack and those that sounded similar from the radio. He would also try remember word for word the verses and constantly recite them to himself until he had learned them. It wasn’t until the late 80's when Cha got involved with the thought of being an emcee. He won a Rap contest in 6th grade and then realized that he was good at it. This and his passion of the art form lead him to learn more and get better at it. After being in many groups even performing overseas in the military he has now polished his talent to the point he’s now ready to release his material on personal note. It’s more for gratification of having people hear his music not to earn a record deal or any of that. He just want people to hear his art form in its most polished form.
