Channel 43 is Richmond, VA’s best-kept punk rock secret. A powerful blend of tasteful songwriting, impeccable musicianship, and unrelenting determination to persevere. C43, often described as the hardest working unsigned band in RVA and now in its nineth year, continues to blast out its unique brand of rock n’ roll – and the music is more melody-driven and passionate than ever. Everywhere they go, they turn heads and blow minds. C43’s road has taken them from the Atlantic Ocean to points as far west as Minneapolis, MN and San Antonio, TX. The live performance is as real, raw and intense as any 3-piece band could possibly generate. With a top ten hit on garageband.com, a song on the soundtrack of Sans Simeon Pictures’ “The Thrillbillies”, a video due to be released for the track “Looking Down”, and thousands of downloads from their website and mp3.com its easy to see that there is no other band like them. After a short time in the woodshed, C43 has emerged with 11 brand new songs affectionately titled ” A Cold Day In Purgatory”. Sciub, Sorvino, and Mike are all very excited and ready to tear up the road ahead. Live shows, tours, radio promotion, recording the next record (3 song titled "Three Finger Salute"), and door pounding are all part of the 2009 game plan. C43 has played with countless great rock bands in its first Nine years, including Avail, Hot Water Music, The Buzzcocks, Agent Orange, GBH, Lamb of God, River City High, Coheed & Cambria, The Explosion, U.S. Bombs, Union 13, Against All Authority, Sixer, Murphy’s Law, Dave Brockie Experience, Hot Rod Circuit, Verbena, The Sheryl Cro(w) Mags, Unitas, Billy Talent, Ann Beretta, Alabama Thunder Pussy, FEAR, Motion City Soundtrack, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Roger Miret and The Disasters. Formed in 1999, C43 has written, recorded, and produced two albums and a third with long time friend and producer, Justin Bailey. The first, “False Sense of Accomplishment”, was released in 2000. After a year of touring the band was ready to hit the studio again with, “3160 Ellwood Ave.” Completed in 2004 with the help of long time friend and recording mogul Mark Miley in his Glass Hand Studio, C43 has taken their music to another level. 2007 began with tracks at Black Iris studios with new producer Justin Bailey at the controls. 2008 the record was finally finished and is currently in production for release. Channel 43 is as from-the-ground-up as bands get. Now with a third record to promote, there is nothing to contain the reciprocating force that is C43. Book them, sign them, talk about them, let them sleep on your floor, and most of all listen to their music.
