    Two of the best profiles of Charlie Rich I've ever read are contained in the books "Feel Like Going Home" and "Lost Highway," both by Peter Guralnick. Meanwhile, it's a pity audio isn't available here for Charlie's original version of "Life's Little Ups and Downs." It's a far more soulful and personal interpretation than Ricky Van Shelton's. But then, it wasn't Ricky Van Shelton's wife who wrote the song.

    love this. but like dylan the covers do it for me more than the originals. not sayin i dont dig the originals... oh. i gotta find the song "everything i do is wrong." its hard to find. even harder to find a cover of it i heard as a kid.

    As much a soul singer as a country singer . If you haven't ,check out the lesser known 50's (Sun recordings) and 1960s stuff fantastic !!! ............ Charlie was (and is) one of the greats
