  Just now found & heard this album again for the 1st time in over 40 years. To hear "Black Roses" again brought a tear to my eye & a big smile on my face. It really took me back to a very Magical time in my Life. As a professional musician who grew up in the 60's, along with Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Grateful dead,etc., Clear Light's 1st album was a major influence on my blossoming musicianship way back then. To hear "Black Roses" again brought a tear to my eye & a big smile on my face. It really took me back to a very Magical time in my Life. As a professional musician who grew up in the 60's, along with Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Grateful dead,etc., Clear Light's 1st album was a major influence on my blossoming musicianship way back then. I think their drive & especially their common use of changing time signatures within their songs was to me, unparalleled by any other bands in that era, to my knowlege. For some reason, I always felt that Clear Light struck me as a souped-up answer to the Doors. I had all those big vinyl album covers decorating the walls of my bedroom, and this one was always my favorite.-- Jimmy
