  apparently, he was saving up money to buy a pro horn...so he was using a student horn for most of the recordings we have of him

  Ron & Ryan have it in one. CB is the best trumpet player there has ever been.....and one of the greatest horn players ever.

  I cried a little last week when I realized he died at only 25. We'll never know what the world has missed.

  Ya, i agree with Ron, clifford brown was one of the greatest ever, but he died so young, its hard to tell what he would have been had he lived longer

  I am not a trumpet player, but I agree. Cliff is my favorite.

  Many will disagree, but in my estimation, Clifford Brown is the greatest jazz trumpeter in history. I'm a trumpet player, too. The things he could do with a trumpet still amaze me. Technique, tone, creativity, artistry. This man had it all. I'll ALWAYS Remember Clifford.
