What's up? My name is Chris Manu; professionally I go by "Codeine "or "Young CM." I am of Samoan, Philippine, and Spanish decent. I was born overseas and raised over the world, but Young Codeine wasn't born until I moved to the streets of Lower 3rd Ward in Alexandria, Louisiana. I started writing raps and making beats in the early 90's. Being that I've been to a lot of places, I have a very versatile style. I have sponged a lot of game from artists, hustlers and peopled I've dealt and worked with all across the south. I was also exposed to the Drug Game very early and I've lived a very fast life, which was why I chose the name "Codeine", the pain reliever. Codeine is a very common drug used in the south that makes you feel relaxed and laid back which describes my rap style. Being that I was brought up educated, then exposed to this world where there is a lack of education, opportunity, and role models, I feel like I have a responsibility to tell the world about what's really going on. I'm not trying to tell my story as an observer, but as a neighbor amongst the people. From being in and out of jail my whole life to holding a job down and raising a son with my wife, I have a lot of knowledge and experience to share with these younger cats in the game. In my music career, I've worked with platinum producers such as Bruce Purse (Next Plateau), Chucky Thompson (Arista), Prince Charles Alexander (Arista), and Leroy "Mr. Lee" Williams. I've done shows with Eight ball and MJG, Too Short, UGK, Lil Ke Ke, and Screwed Up Click. I've put out mix tapes all over D.C, Maryland, and Virginia, where we have a deep following. I'm currently recording on a regular basis. I have over sixty songs in my catalogue. I own my own record label called "Famfatal Entertainment" but I've also thought about going major so that in the future I can push my artist's and create as I see fit. I'm under management with Iceberg Entertainment. My manager is Jimmy "Berg" Robinson. Together we have put a package together like none other. We have the game on lock in the National Capitol Area and given the opportunity to be heard, our music will speak for itself. Our hustle and hunger for a takeover is inevitable. FamFatal is the next thing to blow, I'm telling you. Just Listen!!!
