From the very beginning, Coppertone has been about one thing only: Writing the music they truly desire, for themselves and without compromising, but of course it has always been a dream to break the boundaries of the rehearsal room. Two of the members, Daniel Ditlev (22) – bass, and Martin Prüsse (22) – drums, share a longstanding musical past and have been playing together in numerous compositions since childhood. Following the breaking of a serious project involving Daniel and Martin, the guitarist/singer Anders Verner (22) stepped into the arena in the fall of 2002. And a bit after Jimmy Månson (22) (guitar and backing vokal) joined the group which is a huge success It was obvious from day one that the chemistry was there and efforts were truly made. After a while the group’s first demo was recorded with an old friend and producer Anders Mortensen, in Mortensen’s studio and the estimated Sweet Silence Studios (nice!!). And now the 2 nd EP has been made in cooperation with Anders Holm Mortensen but this time its is purely made in Sweet Silence Studios. Coppertone posses an energy, reaching far beyond the edge of the stage. But this does not compromise the personnel expression and the musical skill level, as this is performed at an exceptional standard. At the same time, Coppertone has the ability to lure the audience into their own cave, filled with atmosphere, intimacy and ruggedness, and lyrics concerning everything from straight up criticism and stories of everyday life. It is noticeable that different groups such as Superfuzz, Queens Of the Stone Age, Ben Folds, Kashmir, Pearl Jam etc. has been an inspiration to the band, though without duplicating. But above all, Coppertone is a new and original band climbing up the ladder of the Danish music scene, which is in dire need of fresh blood.
