Singer and songwriter Corey is one of Holland's most soulful performers. She's been singing for many years and all that experience, both in the world of music as well as in life, is reflected in her voice and the songs she writes. Blessed with a delicious voice, she can melt even the coolest cats out there with her inspirational street soul music.
Corey has previously won the prestigious 'Dutch Grand Prize' band competition (2002) as well as the Best Dutch Female R&B Singer Award in '97 and '98. She has previously released the Rebirth EP (2002), the cd-single It Ain't Me (2003) and a first single that featured rapper Sadat X of Brand Nubian (1997).
Corey is at her best on stage, communicating with an audience and she has truckloads of experience playing live all over Holland. She has also opened for artists such as KC & Jo-Jo, Adina Howard, Truth Hurts and most recently John Legend.
Corey's long-awaited debut album Movin' On is largely produced by Jay.Soul and is full of heartfelt soul music - flavored with bits of jazz, funk, hip-hop, r&b and gospel. Movin' On covers a variety of moods, sounds, influences and topics and is based on personal expression and real-life emotions, instead of on cheap gimmicks or over-used sampled loops.
Bottomline: Corey sings straight from her heart and hopes to move and inspire your mind, body and soul. Go ahead, listen to the tracks and get yourself a copy of Movin' On today!

Holland's #1 Music Magazine OOR: "Movin' On showcases a matured singer who fully makes use of her life's experiences and soulful voice. The album is full of very strong self-written songs, both lyrically, melodically and production-wise. Especially producer Jay.Soul has provided a very open, organic sound that leaves Corey plenty of room. This intimate atmosphere is further enhanced by three beautiful live recordings. (..) It's a great mystery why no big record label has yet expressed real interest to release this. Even more reason for all those involved to be very proud of this completely self-made top record!?
Amsterdam's #1 newspaper Parool: "If you like singers such as Jill Scott and Lauryn Hill, you're sure to enjoy this, but Corey doesn't shy away from a bit heavier material either (..) The fact that no Dutch record company has signed Corey is as unbelievable as it is sad."
National newspaper Volkskrant: "An independent album that deserves attention. (..) Corey proves there is a lot of mature soul talent in Holland's big cities, backed by fine musicians"
Music magazine KindaMuzik: "Movin? On is a soul album like it is not often made in our country. The production of Jay.Soul is tip-top: the music is warm and clearly played by experienced musicians. Corey has a beautiful voice that is given plenty of room."
Holland's premier hip-hop website Statemagazine.nl: "Producer Jay.Soul manages to create the right mood every time. Whether it needs to be cheerful, powerful or dark, it really is (..) Corey has a delicious voice (..) Can I Get With U sounds like a single (..) The 3 live tracks are a nice bonus showing Corey in great form"
Music Maker Magazine: "Suppose Corey was an American singer. Then the big record companies would be fighting over the rights to her debut album. Then songs such as 'It Just Iz' (addictively mysterious), 'Too Late' (fantastic piano riff) and 'Car Crash (delicious guitar rock) would be considered as the best to have appeared recently. Then the gorgeous ballad 'Why Did I' would become one of the biggest hits in the US this year. Corey would win awards. Her producer and musical mastermind Jay.Soul would be able to choose between offers from big stars. Corey would be counted among the top of the (street)soul/rb (..) But Corey lives in Amsterdam (..) and it's a outrage she doesn't have a record deal!"
