Dani Gurgel is a young singer working on new composers of brazilian music. Singing songs of her own and new composers of brazilian popular music, she has been performing around São Paulo for some time now. In 2007, she lead a project that brought each week a a different composer to the concert, in which she played some of his songs and he also participated. They, as a rule, had one debut album or none, to be considered ‘new’. Also a composer (and also new), Dani is the author of some of the songs, along with her pianist Debora Gurgel. Those are the songs of the project Da Pá Virada, winner of Projeto Nascente 2007 (USP). Both projects are growing to result in her first album, to be released September 2008. In 2007, Dani recorded an e.p., with one song of hers and three of new composers. That is a small preview of the album, and it may be listened to at her website.
