Their initial full length record was released November 29th, 2005 and beat all expectations when in its first week alone it sold nearly 1000 copies nationwide, landing them a spot on the Canadian Billboard Top 200. This was a huge accomplishment for the group since their original formation in 2003. The band then set off on an independently booked coast to coast Canadian headlining tour that following summer, playing as many cities as they could in a 10 passenger van.
A growing interest in the band's live performance has landed them spots sharing the stage with acts such as: Alexisonfire, Poison the well, Dillinger Escape Plan, Throwdown, Cavelera Conspiracy, Silverstein (band), Protest The Hero, Misery Signals, Cancer Bats, August Burns Red, Hopesfall, Bless the Fall, Darkest Hour (band), The Spill Canvas, Ill Scarlett, and Moneen. In the fall of 2006, the band took time off touring to begin work on their second full length record. Locking themselves in their rehearsal space for hours on end, they initiated the writing process and began working out new songs. Following their writing stint, Dead and Divine set out on several more self-booked headlining tours including a winter tour throughout Ontario during the month of January, a February-March Eastern Canada tour, and two more full Nationwide Canadian tours spanning from April to August 2007. Finally taking some time off, the band spent 5 days at Drive Studios with producer Steve Rizun, completing pre-production for six songs on their upcoming full-length.
They spent December 2007 recording their Rise Records debut at Interlace Studios with producer Kris Krummet. The album was released on March 18th through Rise/Verona Records, and the band set off on a full - nearly sold out - Canadian CD Release tour to support the new release. Their new record, The Fanciful, was met with open arms by Alternative Press Magazine, who deemed it "Freaking incredible. Alternately more brutal than the metalcore masses and exponentially more melodic than anything you’ve banged your head to in months". The album also received noteable reviews from the likes of Outburn Magazine, Hails and Horns, Metal Hammer, Exclaim!, and Vice. Following their Canadian CD Release tour, they crossed into the US with bands like Oh, Sleeper, Inhale Exhale, Lower Definition and their label mates Emarosa, Oceana, and Take The Crown. The video for their single "Like Wolves" was bumped to full rotation on Much Music, and to date has been featured on other programs such as MuchLoud, PunchMuch, and the Punk Show.
Dead and Divine has been supporting The Fanciful in North America since it's innitial release in 2008 through relentless US touring and extensive, sold out Canadian runs. The band has recently been picked up by Distort Entertainment in Canada, and has begun writing their second International LP.
