Dean & Britta's long-out-of-print first album, "L'Avventura", produced by Tony Visconti, will be re-released on September 2nd this year, this time as a digipak. The album now contains three bonus re-mix tracks from the "Sonic Souvenirs" EP (re-mixes by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3).
A limited number of signed copies of "L'Avventura" are now available for pre-order from Newbury Comics, at the special price of $11.99.
Dean & Britta play Galaxie 500
Thursday evening, August 21 will see Dean & Britta and band back at the Zipper Factory on west 37th Street. The Zipper Factory is an intimate theatre (converted from, yes, a Zipper Factory) and everyone gets a seat. On this night we are going to concentrate on songs by Galaxie 500. Opening act is El May (featuring the sometime Luna keyboard player Lara Meyerratken).

Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips are former members of the band Luna.
Their latest album Back Numbers was produced by Tony Visconti (Bowie, T. Rex). Variations, a remix EP of 7 songs from Back Numbers is available for digital download on Amazon, iTunes and Rhapsody. Dean & Britta will be selling CDs on their upcoming tour. These CDs will not be available in stores.

Dean & Britta have also delved into the world of film score/soundtrack, including Noah Baumbach's The Squid and the Whale.. and Olivier Assayas' Clean.. Started by Wareham in 1992, Luna made 7 studio albums before calling it quits in 2005. The Best of Luna.. was recently released by Rhino and Beggar’s Banquet. A documentary film of Luna's final tour, Tell Me Do You Miss Me.. premiered at Tribeca Film Festival last year. Prior to Luna Dean fronted seminal indie Rough Trade band, Galaxie 500, whose discs are currently available on Rykodisc. Britta joined Luna in 2000. Before that, she played in several bands (Belltower, Ultrababyfat, Ben Lee), starred in the movie Satisfaction (with Julia Roberts and Justine Bateman and Liam Neeson and Steve Cropper), and was the singing voice of 80s cartoon character, JEM.
