Question: If I offer my songs as ringtones, would you buy any? Let me know so I can decide whether to go through with it!

  • Babeltower

I've finally rescued a track I lost long ago. I'm glad I got it, because it's one of my favourites. Something went dreadfully wrong in Garageband the day I produced it, so now it's a trippy, upside-down sort of song.

I have ideas for a video, but that will be a long process that will probably be started next weekend.

So go check it out, see (hear?) what you can make of it.

  • I've been gone for a while

but I'm getting back up. Yes, up. Don't worry, I have plenty of music about it all.

  • Popular lyrics

I've been getting good reviews for a set of lyrics I wrote last week. (I don't have music for them yet, though.) I think I'll post them to my WritersCafe, and maybe to my MySpace and DeviantArt. You should take a look if you're interested....

  • On hiatus?

I'm not dead yet. I've been consumed by schoolwork and drama. I'm planning to work hard and get some new music posted over Thanksgiving Break. I'm also on a drama- free diet. I'd explain, but I think the music will say it all.

  • Album Release (finally)

In the midst of evacuating, I am finally releasing my album of instrumentals. Check the "webstore" page on the official website- it should be available before Tuesday.

  • Upcoming Projects

In my never- ending quest to become Microsoft certified (being veeeery sarcastic right now), I have had less and less time to work on my unfinished and yet- to- be- begun projects. Worry not, however; my inner composer makes up for this lack of time by waking me up in the wee hours of the morning and propelling me toward my computer. As a result, I'm slowly finishing up some new material, which means more music for you!!!

What can you look forward to hearing? The frontrunner as far as being finished is "Numbers," a string feature whose lyrics were written a year or so ago. What's keeping this one from being done is the second interlude- I don't know what to do with it.

"The Debutant(e)" (not sure if I'm going to add the "e" or not; the word has a slightly different meaning with or without it) will probably be next. It's a brass band piece, a product of my almost- year- long stay in New Orleans. The problem with this one is that I have to generate the instruments myself, which requires my patience, which Microsoft is absorbing at alarming rates....

I just got started on "Silly Girl," "Timeless," and "The Song" this morning, so I'm not exactly sure where they'll be going, except that "Silly Girl" is a moody R&B piece, "Timeless" will be dominated by piano, and "The Song" should be a fun jazz piece.

"Designs," which is still only a project of my mind, should be interesting. It'll be a jazz orchestra piece (hopefully I can do homage to Sir Duke on this one) led by a flute (F horn?) and viola. Why? It's inspired.

There may or may not be a piece called "Hydroplane" in the mix. I was working on it- pretty darn close to finishing it, actually- last December just before my hard drive crashed. If I can remember enough of how it went, I'll share it with you. It rocks.

So that is, in words, the music I'm working on. In the meantime, maybe you'll keep in touch, keep sharing my music.... On my end, the next time we talk, I will be certified to present you with this kind of information in spreadsheet format.

  • The "official website"

Anybody else notice that my "official website" has been neglected?? It might have something to do with a)my having reached the maximum capacity/ bandwidth/ whatever and can't add or delete songs and b) my newfound hatred for Freewebs.com. Keep an eye out for a new site this summer or fall. In the meantime, there's always MySpace, Facebook, and (naturally) iLke. I like iLike.

  • What's your fave?

Which Deborah Iyann song is your favorite? Do you have more than one fave? Have you heard them all? Let a sista know; post on my Wall!!!!!!

  • Oooooh, a blog! Fun.

So I didn't realize that a) iLike had a blog and b) my new snippet had been added. I'm still working on the lyrics to "Welcome Back..." or I will be... when i have time... rrr. Anyway, hope you like the newbie. The old ones, too. Hey, maybe you could leave me your thoughts on the fan wall. This conversation's a little one- sided :(
