Browsing through the local Vancouver music scene, chances are that sooner or later you'll come across the band Definition. Opening for such acts like Project Wyze, Noise Therapy, Shocore and Sun Like Star, Definition has amassed significant attention in the Vancouver and surrounding areas. Combining a driving rhythmic pulse and melodies that invite the listener in has created a great formula for songs with aggressive power that avoid being isolated to metal-only cliques. Awkward comparisons to Tool or Deftones hint at a sound that hits hard yet manages to capture audiences of many tastes. Definition’s live show is a dynamic, interactive, multimedia performance that always strives to leave the audience wondering what’s next. Formed in late 2000, Definition is comprised of brothers Jared and Todd Mumford on bass and drums respectively, guitarist Ryan Powell, and vocalist Tom Prilesky. There is no fancy management, no rich daddies, no inside connections. The band has been prevalent by their own efforts, as they do everything from recording to design and upkeep of www.definitionband.com themselves. Definition has currently released their independent debut, Human Null Factor, also available at www.definitionband.com. In the next year, you will find the band back in the studio recording a follow up EP and playing notable local shows.
