What would become Devola started out as a song writing colaboration between singer, Chad Prouse and guitarist, Buddy Jordan. After the first set of songs were finished the search for individuals to form a band began. Bassist, Scott "Rojo" Stringer, long time friend of Chad and Buddy, joined in late 2001. Another long time friend, Robert Wiggen, then joined to play lead guitar. The band now needed to find a name and permanent drummer. The name Devola was soon established, and after a few tries at finding the right person on the drums, Chris Johnson was found to fill the slot. The band then set out to start developing it's own songs and began writing music as a group.
