  • We're Recording!

Today we start recording for a digital release that should be arriving sometime at the end of November, or early December.  The release should consist of 3 songs that some of you have already heard us play before but haven't heard recorded.  It will be mixed and mastered by Charlie Vela [http://www.myspace.com/charlievelarecording the same engineer that recorded/mixed our last EP.  Please pray that the recording goes smoothly, and we'll update with some visuals pretty soon.

  • Writing: Week One

So, we've been here in Kerrville for the last week, here's an update on what's going on:

After seven days, we're happy to report that we have about five new songs, in varying forms of completion, written. Again, whether all, some or none will be included on our new E.P. we are very happy with them and our productivity.

There's still a lot of work to be done individually with each song, but despite that, we feel these new songs are pushing us in a more mature, bigger, direction.

We'll be here for at least another week, hopefully writing more songs and for sure improving upon those already written. We can't wait to have you all hear them!

We look forward to seeing you all at upcoming shows or in and around town when we get home, thanks for all your support!

  • Paste Magazine Online Writeup!

For those of you who didn't know, we got written up in the online edition of Paste Magazine, where they covered our performance at the Next Big Nashville Music Festival. This is what they had to say:

9:00 PM - McAllen, TX's Dignan are an underrated bunch. But they've been doing it right. Slogging it out on the road, slowly building up an audience. This was my third time seeing the band live. And Lot 7 proved to be a weird, but charming venue - a club in the dance club sense - the sort you can't get in with tennis shoes. With a constant plume of totally unnecessary fake smoke pouring out in the audience, Dignan played a solid set mixing their Arcade Fire wall of sound with a Promise Ring early emo confessional aspect. Singer Andy Pena has a striking voice, a husky and full of bravado that stands out in a genre wth a lot of whiny, adolescent screamers.

    ---

Not too bad for an underrated bunch, eh?

Keep checking our blog for more updates on the writing process in Kerrville and other random things happening with us.

  • Tour and Beyond...

    tour and beyond...

Ok, Ok. I know we've (I"ve, for those who know who generally authors the blogs) have slacked off a bit with the tour blogs... but, I'll tell you what... I'll quickly catch you up on the remainder of our tour and then take you into the future... which, technically would be the present... but use your imagination.

    Yes, we can time travel.

The rest of the tour went, as I remember where we were last time, we left Florida and moved on to South Carolina, played at the New Brooklyn Tavern with our some of our best friends in All Get Out.

The next day we had a day off, had an extended stay with our friend Ben Walker, drove to Nashville, played a music festival, and, sadly, our last show on tour with Homer Hiccolm.

Said goodbye to Homer Hiccolm, stayed with O'Brother, played in Macon and then made our way to Florida where we spent nearly a week and a half playing shows with our good friends, The Dark Romantics and Mouse Fire.

Went back to Atlanta, took three days off, hung out with O'Brother, played our last show with The Dark Romantics and Mouse Fire and then drove twenty hours back home, right after the show.

    Fast forward to the future!!!!!!

We're now in Kerrville, TX. Why are we here? Well, we're writing songs for our new release.

To catch you up. We arrived here two days ago, looking to spend about two weeks, away from distractions and other things, to write.

It has been two days since we've been here and we've already written two songs. Now, when I say that, I don't mean that they're ready to be put on a record, but we do have basic structures and then some... Whether they'll make it onto the actual record? We don't know just yet, but we do know that we are very satisfied with them, and the pace that we're working at so far...

So, in a nutshell, we'll be here for at least another week and half, hopefully writing more and more songs, and if all goes well, we'll have new tracks to hopefully record in the next year...

Sooooo... for those who have been waiting for new stuff, you may be in luck. Who knows... maybe if you attend one of our shows in the next few months, you may be treated to some new material.

Keep your fingers crossed, because ours surely are.

Thanks for your ongoing support! Everyone of you!!!

We hope to see you soon with new material.
