Dion Roy is a fresh face in the New York acoustic music scene. A singer, songwriter, guitarist and composer with a base in New York. He was born in Namibia and raised in South Africa, Dion later relocated to New Jersey, but he's a true New Yorker at heart. Throughout his musical career, he played as a bassist in several bands which lead him to tour throughout the North-Eastern college circuit and perform in various New York City venues (The Bitter End, The Luna Lounge, Pianos, Kenny's Castaways, etc). He's currently focused on launching his career as a singer/songwriter, with his first album due in Early 2009. The currently untitled album features brooding tracks about the ups and downs of a dysfunctional relationship and love that's gone sour. His music is a combination of heartfelt and introspective lyrics, with unforgettable hooks that stay with you long after the music stops. His influences include the late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, British piano rock band Keane and American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. and real.
