  Congrats to Martie and her family, for sure; but I was also sad to hear about Emily's divorce. I hope she's doing okay under the circumstances.

  Congrats on the new little girl! I've been a fan for over a decade and continue to listen to your music everyday. I share the love with my 8th graders in my classroom and perform your music on my guitar with friends and at small coffee shops. I can't wait for whatever you ladies put out next.

  As a daughter of a professional jazz musician, and having been raised in the Pacific Northwest where the Portland, Olympia and Seattle Alternative-Punk music scenes influences my listening aesthetic, it wasn't until I saw Shut Up & Sing that I became aware of the Chicks musically. I have to say that I think they are three of the bravest women in America , and musically, Not Ready to Make Nice one of the bravest songs I have ever heard. I think that the Dixie Chicks are the best thing to come out of Texas and in good company with Richard Linkletter, are defining a new generation of Texas which we so clearly need (thank you Jesus!).
