DRAGSTRIP COURAGE was formed when songwriter/guitarists Scott Janovitz and Mike Quinn, who had also done time in the Providence RI band Rhino, moved to Boston and began playing around town and developing their sound. Finally after nearly two years of juggling musicians, Scott and Quinn found a permanent third member. With the addition of drummer Dave Foy, the band had formed a more solid unit, allowing them to continue doing shows around Boston, Rhode Island, New York and Maine. Having had both good and bad recording experiences with other producers and engineers, Dragstrip Courage felt that they had a better idea than anyone else of the direction in which the new material should go, so they decided to produce themselves. The result of two months of recording is “Echo Rock”, an 11 song LP. Since the complexities of "Echo Rock" proved challenging to reproduce at live shows, the search for additional musicians intensified. When Danish guitar legend Jesper Urban answered an ad at the end of April, the four-piece rock faction was complete.
