Drop Out is a hard hitting melodic driven rock band out of Boston, Massachusetts. Founder and vocalist Steve Richards started things up in his basement in April of 2001. Joined by his long time friends Cole Hartung on lead guitar and Justin Hussy on rhythm guitar. In the beginning stages they called themselves Second Call but now with Chris Taglieferro taking over on the drums and Jim Linskey playing bass they decided to change their name. Taking the local music scene by storm and packing various night clubs it was hard for Drop Out to be ignored. They have shared the stage with acts such as Nullset, Dogfight, Blind By Noon, 7th Rail Crew and many other great local Boston bands. Over the past 2 years they have played over 30 shows across New England with many more lined up. Having been influenced by such great hard rock bands as Guns n' Roses, Staind and Alice In Chains it's no wonder why their debut album The Henderson Project takes you from pulsating rhythms all the way to a power ballad that hook you and don't let you go. The 5 song CD was mixed, produced and recorded by Richards in his basement using minimal equipment. On January 16th 2003 Drop Out was interviewed live on WAAF's's Jay Ferrera show (the biggest radio station in Boston) promoting a big concert they played the following night at Boston Rocks. The night of the show was a huge success after being interviewed again with Jay they put on another phenomenal show. Now they are in the studio doing pre-production work for their next release and getting ready to hit the road for "The Wipe Your Face All Over New England Tour" starting in April and ends in June. Along with Backwoods and two other local rock bands to be named later they will play 20 shows up and down New England. Expect to be hearing great things about Drop Out as they make their way up the music chain and hope to be national in the near future.
