Singer/songwriter Easy Parker was the face of the alternative country-rock band Crowchild for eight years. Their teased hair and glossy wardrobe was just a part of the act, but substance and song structure were there. As one of Copenhagen’s (Denmark) more talented acts of the 1990s, the band released three independent E.P.’s on their own Rockaway Music label before disbanding in April 2000. Parker, who's a punk with a soft heart, didn't stop writing music. His love for Ryan Adams, Jesse Malin and Elvis Costello affected his work; he spent the next two years working on a fresh, heading-off-the-rails, rock sound. The songs Parker came up with have a strong thematic and structural center and needed a basic rock setup to accompany it. Parker contacted upcoming punk band The Laurels which he had befriended through the Copenhagen underground music scene, and hooked up with this cocky and brash rock ‘n roll trio to support him live on stage and in the studio. EASY PARKER & The Laurels recorded a 7-song demo in June 2005 and are currently working on the prospects of signing up with an experienced manager, acquiring a record deal with an international record label, and finally to record a studio album with a professional producer.
