EFTERKLANG SIGNS TO 4AD!
We are very happy to let you know that we have signed a new record deal with 4AD - one of our absolute favourite labels in the world. We will now be part of a roster that currently counts fine artists like The National, Deerhunter, TV on the Radio, M Ward, Scott Walker,Beirut and many more and we are of course full of anticipation about this new collaboration between 4AD and Efterklang. First project together will be our 3rd studio album, which will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2010. The playground for this new friendship is the world, but in Scandinavia we will release our future albums on our own Rumraket label. This does not mean that we are cutting all ties to our current home, The Leaf Label. Not at all, actually. October 19th 2009 they will release Performing Parades by Efterklang & The Danish National Chamber Orchestra on CD/DVD & LP/DVD.
We have been releasing our music on The Leaf Label since 2004 and it is the home of our Tripper and Parades albums as well as our mini-albums Springer and Under Giant Trees. It has been absolutely joyful for us and we are proud that we have contributed to their incredible discography. We are still waiting for them to release a record we don't like, but we are beginning to think that it will never happen. We think they will be reading this and here is a huge and sincere THANK YOU for them.
We will be on tour this fall starting Friday!
We are touring most of the fall, because we like to tour and because we want to celebrate the Performing Parades release. The biggest show this fall will be October 28th at Barbican Hall in London where we will be playing a Performing Parades Concert with the classical orchestra Britten Sinfonia. Tickets are available here: barbican.org.ukThe rest of the shows we will play as a 7-piece and we promise to play a lot of new songs!

Aug 26, 04:19 AMPerforming Parades - update and all the nice details!Hello! as you might know we will release Performing Parades our new CD&DVD & LP/DVD (live album and concert film) on October 19th 2009. The release is a collaboration with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra and everything was recorded live in Copenhagen last year.
In Denmark the release will be available via our own record label Rumraket
- click here for more infoIn rest of the world the release will be available via The Leaf Label
- click for more infoThe release is a new and live interpretation of our Parades album from 2007. The CD & LP part of Performing Parades holds the live audio of Efterklang & The Danish National Chamber Orchestra playing the songs from Parades from start to finish in new arrangements. In many ways we actually think this version of Parades is stronger and better than the original Parades album.
The DVD part of this release holds a 55-minute concert film by Benjamin Hesselholdt entitled Performing Parades. The DVD also holds a 35-minute behind the scenes documentary entitled Recreating Paradesby Ralf Christensen and Anders Bøtter. On top of all this you also get 6 music videos from the original Parades album and also an acoustic live performance of Mirador. We hope you will find all of this interesting!
We should also mention that we will be TOURING MOST OF THE FALL AS A 7-PIECE! click here for dates
Included in the tour is a PERFORMING PARADES CONCERT with BRITTEN SINFONIA in BARBICAN HALL, LONDON on October 28th - click here for tickets
AND FINALLY - This is how the front cover will look like! It is made by our favorite designers/artists Hvass&Hannibal - Take care

Jun 13, 08:44 AMPerforming Parades in Barbican Hall, London
Very exciting news for us!!
To celebrate the release of our brand new live album and film Performing Parades, we have confirmed a concert on 28 October at the Barbican Hall in London in which we will perform our album Parades (2007) with The Britten Sinfonia.
The orchestra previously teamed up with us at this year's fuseleeds09 festival for a performance we will never forget. We look so much forward to play with Britten Sinfonia again!
The show coincides with the release of our Performing Parades CD/DVD and LP/DVD that feature our performance of Parades in Copenhagen last September, with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra. The 55-minute film is directed by Benjamin Hesselholdt, and is accompanied by an audio CD/LP of the full concert.
The DVD will be stuffed full of extras, including a behind the scenes documentary (made by Ralf Christensen and Anders Bötter) of the preparations for the event, and all the videos made for tracks from Parades.
Performing Parades will be released on October 19.
You can buy tickets for the performance in Barbican Hall right here - Barbican.org.uk

Apr 13, 09:58 AMEfterklang newsletter April 2009
We are very happy to tell you that in just 12 days we will play a very special concert with the classical orchestra Britten Sinfonia. Under the headline Performing Parades we will perform our latest album Parades from start to finish as a 39 piece orchestra at the Fuse Festival in Leeds, UK on April 25th.
Last time we played this special concert was in Copenhagen in the fall with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra and we are exited that we get a second chance to perform Parades in its entirety. We hope the future will bring many more of these special concerts.
In the fall of 2009 we will release a Performing Parades live-album and concert film all recorded in Copenhagen last year. It will be a CD/DVD release and there will lots of nice extra material on the DVD.

North American Tour recap... and something about a future album!
To cut it short! It was fantastic! Thanks to everybody that came out! We had such a good tour and we plan to come back once our next album is finished and released. Speaking of our 3rd studio album - we played a lot of new songs on this tour and some of them can be found online in various forms and qualities already recorded by you guys!
The french wonder Vincent Moon also shot one of the songs at our soundcheck in New York. The song is right now called Won´t Believe - you can find it on Vimeo.com - http://www.vimeo.com/3934538
It is not our best performance of that song, but we really like Vincent Moon´s one take video of it. If you are not familiar with the works of Vincent Moon then we highly recommend checking him out. The wikipedia article on him is a good place to start and also his new blog www.Fiumenights.com
Thats all for now - take care!
