Beginning in 1999, guitarist Erik Salinas and vocalist Joseph Patlin, began writing material together. A few months later, with the addition of drummer Frank "FAAR" Ramirez & bassist Cassie Velasquez, ELEMENT 9 was complete. Live shows followed and the band began pre-production on the first EP aka www.element-9.com with producer J.R. Taylor in late 1999. With a few cast changes along the way, including a new vocalist, J.R. Taylor and bassist, Braden Ford, ELEMENT 9 continued playing live shows and expanding their audience by sharing the stage with many bands. From local austin-area bands from Rubberhed & FireKills to major label bands such as Oleander & the world renowned progressive super-group Planet X.
In late 2002, ELEMENT 9 began pre-production on the second EP aka The Lost EP. Unfortunately, the EP was never completed as the band lost two key members before it's completion.
This is a collection the music that ELEMENT 9 created together, in all it's incarnations. I will also be posting performance dates for the various ELEMENT 9 members current musical projects. Enjoy.

UPDATE--UPDATE--UPDATE--UPDATE
After a meeting of the minds, in the summer of 2008, ELEMENT 9 has reunited, to some extent, to finally finish the The Lost EP. We hope to have it finished and released no later than Spring 2009. The possibility of live shows has been discussed, along with talk of recording 3 or so newer ELEMENT 9 tunes that were not included on The Lost EP!!
ELEMENT 9 got together in September 2008 to hang out & play music together for the first time in over 3 years!! We are all super excited and you will be hearing more soon.
