Elizabeth Harper grew up in Los Angeles and attended UC Berkely before moving to New York. Within a year, she played a month long residency at the Mercury Lounge and soon began playing shows at the Bowery Ballroom. She recently toured the UK for the second time and garnered rave reviews. London indie label Angular Recordings released her full length album in the winter of 2005. According to the critics, Elizabeth is "an emerging star in the lower Manhattan scene." (Timeout London) She has a "candidly lovely singing voice" and her songs are "a tad melancholy and delicate a la Chan Marshall or Elliott Smith...with a slight spice of the Cure, the Smiths thrown in." (Village Voice) She has shared the stage with artists such as Johnny Marr, Paul Banks of Interpol, Iron and Wine, and Katell Keineg.
