Together for over four years, Equitone is a Boston-based pop/rock group that has established itself in the New England music scene. The band began with a Boston University following and soon successfully branched out and gained a large local fan base. Fans praise the band for its rich sound, intelligent songwriting, and repertoire at live performances – ranging from original songs to unexpected cover tunes. Equitone’s sound is as diverse as its many influences, which range from U2, Radiohead, and the Dave Matthews Band, to The Beatles and Bob Dylan. Equitone has performed at well-known Boston venues, including Harper’s Ferry, Copperfield’s, and Great Scott, and has traveled to clubs, schools, and colleges throughout New England. Their largest show to-date was an outdoor concert at Boston University for over 4,000 students. The band also has performed with and opened for several popular national acts, including The Mudhens and Division Street. Equitone worked with well-known Boston-based producer Dave Lefkowitz on its self-titled debut CD, which was released in March.
