  Without FC, no european folk-rock. The Sandy's voice, the Swarb and Richard's songs...But FC is'nt only a band of the past... If Sloth is the song I prefer, I like also some recent songs (after 85). Waiting the 45th anniversary...

  I saw the Fairports many times from the summer of '67, until just before Martin Lamble died in '69. They were by far the most interesting and most musical of all the British groups around at the time. Ian Matthews and Sandy Denny sang so incredibly well together, plus the great arrangements and guitar playing of the, older than his young years, Richard Thompson..Anyone who had the good fortune to see them in those days will remember them with great fondness.   Saw the FPs at the Beaufort Ballroom a few years ago. Life altering. Been humming Genesis Hall ever since. Scary to find Mick Fisher as a fan as well. Quiz time...which fairporter released an album called "Lift the Lid and Listen"? I bought it on vinyl. Yep I was the one. M x
