"We Choose Love", written on 9/13/01, was written by a composer who group up in Pennsylvania and splits her time teaching in PA and NYC. It started out as an assignment for her students to teach other students and spread to churches, schools, and community concerts. Audiences sang along and it became an inspirational anthem for both adults and children in the area... The lyrics seem to fit the Obama campaign!
We've lost our innocence, but not our youth.
Our ground was shaken, but not our truth.
We have faith in freedom.
Now enough's enough.
We are Americans, and we choose love.
And we have hope, we have faith
that we can make this world a better place.
We are one, and together we stand.
We are peace. We are love,
And we will learn that we can rise above this pain
that darkens our land.
Yes, we are hurting, but we are strong.
Our hearts are burning, but we go on.
We believe in libe... More...We've lost our innocence, but not our youth.
We believe in liberty, and we are tough.
We are Americans, and we choose love.
And we have hope, we have faith
that we can make this world a better place.
We are one, and together we stand.
We are peace. We are love,
And we will learn that we can rise above this pain
that darkens our land...
We choose love.
