This band may be flying under the radar, but Flying Douglas are a local band with true musical indie-ness. They blend your favorite indie rock sounds, along the lines of Interpol mixed with a good dose of The Stills, but add in mood-altering electro-ambient moments. They will appeal to your ambivalent musical moods - from song to song they master many moods from playful and melodic to sultry and melancholy. Their ability to span a wide margin of musical character could even be compared to, dare I say, Radiohead? Flying Douglas is now on my list of favorite bands, and they hold their own among my most highly regarded indie bands, local or not. --from sdmusicmatters.com
