Holy Crap! My Song is in a Movie!

I'm very excited, because I've had one of my songs placed in a major motion picture!http://i.ixnp.com/images/v3.43.0.1/theme/silver/palette.gif); background-color: transparent; visibility: visible; width: 14px; height: 12px; background-position: -1128px 0pt; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; display: inline;" />  Well, the placement actually happened quite awhile ago, but the movie has been released, and I was able to watch it and hear my tune.  You know how, at the end of certain movies, there are brief epilogues that tell you what happened to the characters after the end of the movie?  That's when my song "A Moment Away (Patiently Waiting)" plays!  The movie is called Wienershttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v3.43.0.1/theme/silver/palette.gif); background-color: transparent; visibility: visible; width: 14px; height: 12px; background-position: -1128px 0pt; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; display: inline;" />, and stars Kenan Thompson and Darrell Hammond of Saturday Night Live, as well as Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, and Jenny McCarthy.  Rotten Tomatoeshttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v3.43.0.1/theme/silver/palette.gif); background-color: transparent; visibility: visible; width: 14px; height: 12px; background-position: -1128px 0pt; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; display: inline;" /> sums up the plot as follows:

Kenan Thompson stars as Wyatt, a man with a home-made wiener wagon that comes in handy when he and Ben (Zachary Levi of television's CHUCK) decide the only thing that will cheer up their depressed friend Joel (Fran Kranz, THE TV SET) after being humiliated on Dr. Dwayne's talk show is to take Joel on a cross-country drive and give that pompous windbag the beating of his life. Wyatt kills two birds with one stone, handing free hot dogs out to the public along the way in hopes that the stunt will land him his dream job at Oscar Meyer. Throughout their journey the three dudes encounter a cross section of freaks, weirdos, and losers. Saturday Night Live's Darrell Hammond co-stars as Dr. Dwayne, along with Jenny McCarthy, comedian Andy Milonakis, and Joel Moore (GRANDMA'S BOY).

    Sounds great, hey?  :)

If you get a chance to check it out, drop me a line and let me know what you thought of the movie.  Whatever you thought, tell all your friends that it's a great movie, and they should watch it, and then go out and buy both of my albums!  And here is a link so you can hear the song if you wish.  It's called "A Moment Away", but for the purposes of the placement the title was changed to "Patiently Waiting".  It's something my publisher Crucial Musichttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v3.43.0.1/theme/silver/palette.gif); background-color: transparent; visibility: visible; width: 14px; height: 12px; background-position: -1128px 0pt; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; display: inline;" /> ( thanks for the placement!) does, and if anyone wants to know why, send me an email and I'll explain.  It was super cool to see my song in the credits, "performed by Freddy"!  In the future, I'll post this info on my websitehttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v3.43.0.1/theme/silver/palette.gif); background-color: transparent; visibility: visible; width: 14px; height: 12px; background-position: -1128px 0pt; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; display: inline;" />, but I'm excited, and I wanted to get the word out right away!

    Love,

    Please help!
I know many of you have voted for me already at Slicethepie.com, but if you haven't, I could really use your vote now!  I'm in the Indie/Rock Showcase, and the winner takes home at least 15,000 pounds to record a new album.  I was leading before, but here's the latest news:

"We've got a real battle going on this week - Shortwave Fade overtook Freddy last night and there are now only a few votes between them. Current share of the vote is split as follows: 24% - 23%."

So if you haven't voted, you've got until Monday.  Please do, and if you can get any of your friends or family to vote for me, I'd really appreciate it!  It could make the difference between 15K and zero.

    Here's the procedure:

    1. Go to Slicethepie.com
    2. Register for an account
    3. Click on 'Showcases' in the bar along the top of the page
    4. Select 'Indie/Rock 1'
    5. Click 'vote'
    6. Scroll down and find me, Freddy.
    7. Click on 'vote' next to my name.

    Thanks for your support,

    Freddy

My first post! And I'm already asking for something!

    Hey everybody,

Thanks for all of the kind words and support you've given me.  You're the reason I make music.

Just to let you know, I have a new album called Doublespeak.  The official release will be in spring, 2008, but it's available here, right now!  Or, if you prefer to download it, you can find it at iTunes as well.  And it will make its way to iLike soon.

Also, I need to ask for your help with something.  I've made it to the final 14 out of 1000 for the Indie/Rock showcase on Slicethepie, a UK crowd-sourcing website that lets listeners pick their favourite music. The faves then go on to showcases, where the winner gets 15,000 pounds (about $35,000). Besides that, it means huge exposure and publicity, putting me one step closer to a major label deal. So I need your vote, and that of everyone you know! Too much to ask? :)

What you need to do is:

    1. Go to Slicethepie.com
    2. Register for an account
    3. Click on 'Showcases' in the bar along the top of the page
    4. Select 'Indie/Rock 1'
    5. Click 'vote'
    6. Scroll down and find me, Freddy.
    7. Click on 'vote' next to my name.

And that's the procedure! The artist with the most votes wins.

    Thanks again!

    Freddy
