Drummer/Vocalist Gary Ritchie was sitting around one day preparing to record a tribute record to his musical hero's...The BEATLES. He was going to record one song off of every Beatle album. At that very moment, his good buddy JEFF KING and former "LOOSE LIPS" band mate rang him up to see what Gary was up to. Once he mentioned the "Beatle project", Jeff wanted to be a part of it. So they went on and recorded "BEAT THE MEATLES". A collection of (22) Beatle songs. It turned out to be so good and tons-O-FUN that they decided to do it again. This time doing all ORIGINAL material. And that is how "POP! RADIO"" was born. It was made in the spirit of good FUN. ENJOY!!.......................... A BIT OF INFO; Gary and Jeff have been making music for many years now. It's amazing how two guys that are so different can still be having a great time together. The world outside seems to just go away once they close the doors to their studio. They each bring something great to the table. And guess what?...not one punch has been thrown through all the years! They are currently working on not ONE but TWO follow up albums to "POP! RADIO" They first played together in a very popular band in the early 80's. Together with Richie Mayer & Danny Welch, CHICAGO'S "LOOSE LIPS" were a force not to be denied. Their highly acclaimed "HUNG UP ON POP" ep is a pop CLASSIC. If you ever see a copy...Grab it up! With songs like "Kyle", "Suicide Dance" & "Who's Crying Now" they, along with Off Broadway & Pezband were Top of the Pops in the Chicago scene. So here they are (Gary & Jeff) still having FUN doing it! Richie & Danny check in every once in a while just to make sure they're still breathing. To get a copy of "Beat The Meatles", drop me a line.
