  If I was told I could only have 10 albums to listen to for the rest of my life one of them would be Ismism, love it pure genius in my opinion.

  Two of the four founding members of the UK alternative (art, comedy, political) rock band 10CC (I'm Not in Love, Wall Street Shuffle) left the band in ’76 due to creative constrictions and dove into the concept album deep end with their new “Gizmo” guitar bridge resulting in a wonked-out but truly delectable disc dubbed Consequences (with musical stylings by Sarah Vaughan and comedy by Peter Cook). Over the years they continued to put out bizarre but brilliant pieces such as "I Pity Ina... More... Over the years they continued to put out bizarre but brilliant pieces such as "I Pity Inanimate Objects" and "An Englishman in New York" (Freeze Frame) – the latter song not to be confused with Sting’s hit by the same name – and, as a duo, really made it big with 1985’a Cry (No. 16 on the U.S. charts) on the album The History Mix Volume 1 (Cry was more recently redone by The Philosopher Kings). Music aside, you’re probably well aware of their creative work in the visual arena, as they combined to direct more than fifty of the music industry’s top videos in the early 1980s (an era when vids were new, exciting and critically important) including The Police ("Every Breath You Take", "Synchronicity II", "Wrapped Around Your Finger"), Duran Duran ("Girls on Film", "A View to a Kill"), Herbie Hancock ("Rockit"), Frankie Goes to Hollywood ("Two Tribes", "The Power of Love"), Sting ("If You Love Somebody Set Them Free"), etc, etc, not to mention Godley's own video for the ‘96 Beatles single "Real Love" done for the Beatles Anthology compilation. I’ve enjoyed years of listening pleasure thanks to these two creative souls, and while they no longer work together I certainly would like to wish them well and recommend anything they’ve done to all those interested in expanding their musical boundaries. – Trevor
