  saw these huys in leeds, england in '86-ish. there were probably about 150 people there. one of the best gigs i've ever seen.

  Dear Husker Du, I don't know if you could post this song of yours, that means alot to me. I had a friend, Nathan I lost many years ago, he was a beautful soul. I couldn't find the song he played ove & over before he died - "Too Far Down". You laugh, I remember it was the last song on the old vinyl. Please Help, it would mean alot. All my love to a Band that gave me so many memories both good & bad, but they reflected how we felt. All my Lovve, Miss Katie.

  What a band...have been revisiting all things Husker Du lately...as well as Mould's initial solo albums, Sugar, & Grant Hart's debut (which was featured in Mojo a few months ago). Am very glad both Hart and Mould have quashed rumours of a Husker-reunion (I take it Norton is busy enough with his restuarant?). Everyone is reforming these days...and more often than not, it is a disappointment. Julian Cope made a joke that by not reforming the Teardrop Explodes, as all his peers reform, they ... More... Julian Cope made a joke that by not reforming the Teardrop Explodes, as all his peers reform, they will seem the coolest - I guess as people will remember the youthful originals in the mists of time, than middle-aged folk playing the old stuff to top up the pension fund... & I don't see how the three members of Husker Du could recreate that energy/bleakness...it's best that they were of their age and can't sully it with a reunion, or a Wonderstuff type line up with about 1/2 an original member in... & let's note that Mr Mould's current tour has thus far featured I Apologise, Chartered Trips, Celebrated Summer & Divide and Conquer. Wonder if he'll play different oldies in Brum at the end of May? Apparently anything from his past goes apart from side 2 of Zen Arcade... I'd love to hear Amusement, Somewhere, All This I've Done for You, Standing in the Rain, Up in the Air, or Friend, You've Got to Fall (...amongst others...)

  Rob those lyrics sound like they might be from the song Wheels off Everything falls apart. Does it also say statue of Mary sitting on my dash help me avoid this crash?

  Rob, Husker Du broke up in '88 so that tune is probably one of Bob Mould's solo tunes, as I don't recognise the lyrics from any Sugar songs. I'll keep my eyes (or ears? lol) peled and send you a message if I find anything. Btw, that sounds like a killer mixtape! :D
