  • NYC Dates and Other Stuff...

Since we've posted the upcoming dates, we've gotten a lot of messages about any other tour dates for 2008. The November NYC dates are the only specific plans we've made, mostly because we're working really hard writing and recording and hope to spend the rest of the year concentrating on that. But there are some plans in the works that might lead to a proper tour in 2009...we're working on it. Thank you for all the requests and kind emails.

A few notes about the upcoming performances that you might find interesting. We get to open for the amazing Stars of the Lid again, and it's for the Wordless Music Series. We think their mission is brilliant:

Wordless Music is devoted to the idea that the sound worlds of classical and contemporary instrumental music -- in genres such as indie rock and electronica -- share more in common than conventional thinking might suggest. To illustrate the continuity between these worlds, the series pairs rock and electronic musicians in an intimate concert setting with more traditionally understood classical music performers. The goal: to bring audiences together, and to introduce listeners from both worlds to composers that they might otherwise not encounter, for a completely new concert experience. In so doing, Wordless Music seeks to demonstrate that the various boundaries and genre distinctions segregating music today -- popular and classical; uptown and downtown; high art and low -- are artificial constructions in need of dismantling.

There are Wordless Music performances in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Portland, Oregon, so if you're in those areas, check it out!

The night after Wordless, we'll be at Monkeytown, one of the most cutting-edge restaurants/venues in the city (monkeytownhq.com), with Taylor Deupree (whose gorgeous album "Northern" we've been wearing out lately). Check out his music at http://www.last.fm/music/Taylor+Deupreeor www.myspace.com/taylordeupreeand his photography at www.taylordeupree.com It's all wonderful.

    Thank you for listening, and

    Peace,
