Happy Halloween

We've been touring now for almost a decade and those who are fans know that although we take our music very seriously we don't take ourselves very serious...

    Hello everyone,

A quick note  before I hit the sack:

I want to give a HUGE  thank you to all the Japanese fans who purchased the new CD,  For(N)ever and helped us get a #1 record on the international  chart.  That's huge for us, a feat we have  never accomplished in ANY country!  We are truly greatful  and appreciative. You have to know that Japan is our favorite  place to play.  The fans are amazing, shows are always  great and the people very accomodating. We are really looking  forward to coming over in March and showing our appreciation.   If the dates aren't posted yet they will be soon.   Look for us at the end of March in Tokyo, Osaka  and.........and.......well I'm not sure where the 3'd show is  going to be.

Again, thank you very much,  Japan, for helping us make  history

    Sincerely

    Hooba-Chris

What's up Stank Nation? Hope life is treating everyone well. Well it's
only been 1 week since the release of for(n)ever and the start of our
tour with 3 Doors Down and I feel like there's already been a whole
tour's worth of stories. We had a blast playing in a park in downtown
St. Petersburg FL. Thanks to the 5k+ people who rocked out with us on an unusually cold Florida night. After the show we had ANOTHER show at a club but that one was acoustic. Good times. Felt like a giant sing along. Jacksonville was great except for the fact that Dan tweaked his back really bad on stage with 3 songs left in the set. He played the final songs slumped over in a chair. We had to cut the song "All About You" since he was in so much pain. Jacksonville we owe you one extra song next time. Superbowl Sunday found us in Sebastian FL and found Dan out of commission from back pain. It also found me doubled over in pain from some sort of stomach virus that has yet to fully run it's course. Being sick is such a bummer! The show in Sebastian was really cool. We played at what looked like a beach club. The stage was like a dock and the floor was the beach. The power went out during soundcheck and for a moment we didnt know what was going to happen with the show. The crowd was large and extremely talkative which made for a good time. Truely a "house party" vibe.

Finally today we woke up in Pensacola to play an acoustic set that was a lot of fun but felt like we were on the set of some sit-com since it was in a tv studio. We got vanned over to Mobile AL after the show and now here we are with about 2 hours before showtime at the Soul Kitchen. Tomorrow we'll be in Houma LA and then we'll get a well earned day off after that. For as much as I love these shows I have to admit I'm anxiously awaiting my off day. That was the abridged version of our week. The extended version would have been too long to type on my iPhone. Check back in later for another update. Thanks everyone.

  • Tacos and Wisdom Converge on Little Rock

After waking up in front of the venue in Little Rock, Arkansas, Dave and I decided to take a walk around and explore the local tastes. Such culinary wonders as Wendy's, Long John Silver's and McDonalds dotted the landscape but one restaurant in particular caught our attention the most and quickly we were off to give it a try. It's exterior said "authentic mexican" with it's adobe like facade, cactus lined walls and painted flower murals. Being that we were in Arkansas we knew the mexican food would be good anyways but this seemed like a no-brainer. Arkansas plus cliche mexican exterior could only equal yummy goodness. We entered the Little Rock, Arkansas Taco Bell like we would any other in any other city. We ordered a typical variety of tacos, burritos and nachos, sat down and waited patiently for our numbers to be called. After I received my food I sat back down and began eating my first taco supreme without tomatoes only to notice that it was basically half empty. The fillings only went half way down the shell. Thinking this was just a quick half assed taco job one off I showed Dave and we both had a laugh. My smiles turned into deep concern after unwrapping taco supreme without tomatoes number two where I found, similar to the first taco, the fillings only went halfway down the shell. By the time I unwrapped the final taco supreme without tomatoes my deep concern had grown into a full code red panic. The combined fillings of all three tacos would have normally been in one taco alone. What kind of a jip-joint were they running here? Looking over I noticed Dave chewing away on a burrito. His face not plastered with the usual sheepish grin found on him when gorging himself with Taco Bell but instead he too wore a look of confusion and concern. Apparently his burrito was sub-standard and hardly worthy of the taco bell paper wrapper it was delivered in. With the look of a child just realizing Santa Claus doesn't really exist, Dave leaned over and said, "Aren't all Taco Bells supposed to be the same?". How do I answer that? How do I tell this young man that no, not all Taco Bells are created equal? How could I crush his virgin spirit? I could not. I just replied, " They are Dave.............they are." We finished our fare and before I could get up out of my plastic chair Dave grabbed my arm, stared intently into my eyes and said these words that will be forever burned into the very fabric of my being. "Dude, I know this is going to sound weird but the Taco Bell back home in Agoura is the best Taco Bell I've ever been to. They hook you up there everytime. We're spoiled." As we walked back to the bus I could only hear his angelic echoing voice in my head and agree, "yes young Dave, we ARE spoiled".

  • "My Turn" Video

We recently shot the video for the song My Turn with director Paul Brown. Unlike any video we had shot before, and this will be our 12th video, this one is specifically designed to be viewed online instead of only on TV. Of course there still will be a TV version of the video but you won't be able to take full advantage of the experience. I'll explain. The video for My Turn itself looks kind of like a video game. We all performed each of our roles in the band in front of a green screen individually. I sang, Dan played guitar, Chris drummed and Dave played bass. But that's where anything "normal" ended. We then started swapping roles. Chris sang, I played guitar etc.... Then after that we had any, and every, one we could find, come in and act out each band member's parts. This included some senior citizens, some little people, my mom, father in-law, the caterer and some barely clothed women to name just a few. This still wasn't enough though. We then got dressed up in costumes. Football players, cheerleaders, classic "Hoobustank" basketball uniforms, not so "super" heroes, women's clothing, moto gear, wetsuits, whatever we could find. We wore it all and performed in it all. We even had Chris's dog Zoe make a cameo. So you might be wondering why we'd have so many people performing the same song. I can sum it up in one word, OPTIONS. When the video goes online you'll have the option to create any version of the video that YOU want. You can have Chris sing while I play guitar in drag with an old lady on drums and Dave playing bass in full moto gear. You can keep switching it up as the video goes too. An all Dan band. An all dog band. Whatever you want. Put us in front of different and multiple backgrounds too as the song plays. I've seen the first edit of just the static TV version and I laughed SO hard. It was HILARIOUS! I had to watch it like 7 times in a row just to catch all the changes. Each time I focused on just one member and each time I saw something different. I know the online version is going to be SO much fun and I can't wait to see what you guys are going to come up with. It'll be YOUR TURN to make the video. This is going to be very cool. Keep your eyes and ears open for more info about it.

  • Texas Tour Blog

Hey everyone. Just giving you guys an update from the road. We've spent the last week in Texas with the exception of one show in Little Rock, Arkansas. The shows have been fantastic. Just a lot of fun for us. We've had the opportunity to hang out with fans after the shows just to talk and take pictures and it's been so cool. Thank you to all that have stuck around after the shows to shoot the shit with us. I've heard so many stories about how our music has affected people's lives and how much it means to them and it's really sinking in. I'm very moved by the passion our fans have. Houston, Dallas, Beaumont, San Antonio and Odessa I'm talking to you! We're lucky to have our fans. The shows have been great. Such a great vibe in the venues. Everyone seems excited including us. The new songs are getting a great response and we're even starting to get request for specific new songs in each city. We've still got a handful of shows left and all I can say is I hope all of you can come be a part of them. It means so much to us to see you all out there. Get one more rock show in for 2008!

  • Checkin in from Albuquerque

We are currently in Albuquerque NM, splitting up the long drive to Salt Lake City (instead of driving 20 something hours straight there we stopped here to hang out for the day).  This has so far been a cold weather tour, thank god I was cautious and packed a down jacket!  I've used it a bunch.  It seems like we must be following a cold front, zigzagging around the nation.  Either that or we pissed of the weather gods somehow.

The tour has been a lot of fun.  We've shaken off the cobwebs and are now at 95% strength, I would say.  We're playing well, REEEEAAALLLY locking it in man!  The clubs have all been fairly small and we've gotten to be intimate with the crowds.  In fact one our crew guys was Very inti...............aw nevermind.

We're making our way back to the west coast, where we all reside.  A stop in Santa Cruz will be much welcomed by me as I love to surf whenever I get the chance.  We are going straight from SC to San Diego to catch Metallica at the arena.  Why not right?  From there it's only a few more shows before returning home to sleep in our own beds, right before Christmas!

The album comes out on the 27th, hope you're all ready for some new music

    peace
